I DO NOT LIKE THE SUPER BOWL (with apologies to Dr. Seuss)

I do not like the Super Bowl
I do not like it on TV
I do not like it next to me
I like it each year less and less
Spare me, spare me CBS.

I do not like the Super Bowl
I do not find it very droll
To watch young men most tightly clad
Bash each other lad to lad.

I do not like the ads, I don’t
I will not watch them
No I won’t.

I do not like the half-time show
I do not like the fuss, you know.
I will not watch a super star
Raking money near and far.

I do not like the hoopla, no
I’d like a quiet place to go
Away from crowds and screaming fans
Away from all those marching bands,
Away from wings and dips and such
I do not like them very much.

I do not like the men in suits
Earning lots cause people root
For teams of men who make lots too
More than we can, me and you.

I do not like the Super Bowl
I think I’ll crawl into a hole
Until the fuss is in the past

And I can come out safe at last.
